Goals & Desires of the Explorer Archetype

The Explorer wants to get out and explore the world in a way that evokes a feeling of absolute freedom to express her true self.

Explorers do all they can to break the mould for themselves and others as they embark on their pioneering adventures.

Above all Explorers abhor the thought of leading a life of limitations and boredom.

At best the free spirited Explorer values a life filled with explorations of inner and outer unknowns with a sense of curiosity, adventure and a willingness to fully experience whatever they discover on their quest.

Self Expression of the Explorer Archetype

The Explorer fears that by accepting the status quo she may grow bored and have no purpose, while asking herself if this is the extent of the life experience she can expect.

The fear of stagnation can also be covering up her anxiety of having to face inner emptiness. The fact is, what the Explorer seeks is not ‘out there’. It’s been within her all along.

The Explorer is one of the Escapists in the Personality Archetype Quadrants.

Activities that fulfil the Explorer Archetype

An Explorer finds happiness when she is free to grow and expand.

Explorers find meaning in challenging the status quo and showing others where they too can experience freedom and independence.

The Explorer gains true fulfilment from the experience of the journey regardless of whether the intended destination is reached. New levels of self-awareness are particularly exciting for an Explorer and expressing her true self is of paramount value. Their self-esteem is buoyed even from just being at the forefront of a new trend.

These are the permission slips you’ve been waiting for to be who you really are and ho after what’s truly important to you.
